Life and Soul Promotions was an organisation set up by me in about 1999 devoted to the promotion of Soul Music and in particular New Artists and Releases. All activities have moved to new branding as Soul Freedom

Activities started as a website for reviews and interviews. Annual Independent Soul Mixer Event

I hosted an annual Indie Soul Mixer networking event for the Soul Music Industry for 10 years starting in 2006 which was an invaluable event for any Independent Artist. At the events in Harlem many indie artists attended together with other prominent people in the Independent Soul Community such as promoters, media, tastemakers, agents, label representatives, DJ’s, with a total attendance of well over 200. I also did similar events in Atlanta and Bristol. Our strapline was Networking - Education - Collaboration - Performance. Speakers included Gordon Chambers, Eric Roberson, Terry Bello.

DJ Events:

As a record collector gained an extensive knowledge of Black Music generally and in particularly Soul Music. I have Djed at many venues, extensively in Bristol and the South West but also New York, Atlanta, Ibiza and Bordeaux, France.

For past 8 years I have co-promoted Freedom Vibes across Bristol featuring Uplifting Soul Music.

Radio

I've hosted a weekly show on Kute FM Bristol under their RSL Licence and in was a regular contributor to The Juice on Solar Radio featuring new and pre release independent soul music.
Soul Freedom has hosted regular radio shows on Radio Cardiff, Passion Radio Bristol, Pulse Radio (Somerset), NuWave Radio (London) & Solar Radio and have guested on various other stations in Bristol, New York and Atlanta. I am excited to be bringing Soul Freedom to JFSR.

Live Events

In 2005 I promoted a series of live events in Bath UK, featuring independent soul artists, from the USA Stanley James, Maya Azucena, Angelique, Yewande and UK based Martine Girault, Juliette Leon and Vixxen.
As Soul Freedom Live I hosted many gigs across Bristol with local, national and International Artists, having played at St Pauls Carnival, and events for Emancipation Day and in support of Sickle Cell.

Have also hosted events as part of Black History Month

International Soul Summit, Atlanta

I was regular attendee and participant at the International Soul Music Summits held in Atlanta, being one of only a few representatives from the UK.
