I discovered soul music in the 1960’s listening to Motown records - continuing into the 1970’s with TSOP, Stax & Atlantic etc. My DJ career started when I was 16 in 1976 - doing parties and weddings with my elder brother.
At 18 I was DJ’ing on the East End of London soul pub circuit. In between gigs attending various soul nights – including The Gold Mine in Canvey Island Essex, The Best Disco in Town & Gulliver’s in London’s West End.
Additional club residencies followed throughout London and Essex, including several soul weekenders: The Blackpool International Soul Festival, Margate Soul Festival, Salou Soul Week and more.
My part time radio career began with Hospital Radio, later joining community stations and recently many years at Solar Radio. All my shows are brought to you with love and named: The Message Is In The Music©1976
