PAUL LEWIS - ‘The Ultimate Collection’ Fridays @ 4pm - 6pm I have been DJ’ing since I was 13 and have always loved Jazz Funk & Soul having been influenced massively by my Dad (modern Jazz) and Mum (Soul). During my 20’s I was the resident DJ in the Amphitheatre at the Brunel Rooms in Swindon which was a fantastic venue and people would travel from across the country, to boogie down and dance to Jazz Funk & Soul alongside some of the finest dancers in the UK.The nights were regularly mentioned in Blues & Soul Magazine and it is also featured in the book ‘The History of the UK Jazz Dance Scene’ written by Mark ‘Snowboy’ Cotgrove. I appeared at various 80’s Soul Weekenders and DJ’d at various venues across the UK and was fortunate to work alongside some of the legends such as Pete Tong, Tim Westwood and Colin Curtis together with some of the finest local DJ’s in the South West. In recent years I have DJ’d at various Jazz Funk & Soul nights and recently appeared on the ‘Soul Train Show’ on Swindon 105.5 Radio which really made me want to have my own radio show. Being invited to become a DJ/Presenter with the JFSR family is a great privilege and so I hope you enjoy listening to my shows which will feature a collection of the ultimate in soul, funk, jazz funk and ‘real’ jazz My 3 favourite artists are: 1.George Benson 2.Lionel Richie and 3.The Fatback Band. My 3 favourite tracks (geez this is hard): Joy & Pain by Maze, Black is the colour by Wilbert Longmire and Shame by Evelyn Champagne King. Would have a different 3 tracks this time tomorrow though!

My show "DJ Ed's Funk Suite", which I've been doing since October 2014 on JFSR, is currently broadcast live on Saturday afternoons between 2pm and 4pm (UK times). I like to keep my show "In The Mix" and keep it Funky, loving tracks with a good bassline. I'm specialized in late 70's to mid 80's Funk & Disco, but every now and then I like throw a few reworks or Soulful/Funky House cuts in the set. Some of my all time favorite tunes: Charades - Gimme The Funk Empire projecting Penny - Freakman Michael Jonzun - Burnin' Up Whispers - Imagination

Hi Im Koal Bee, I've loved the soulful vibes of Jazz Funk & Soul from my early teens in the mid 70's. I recall the days that my eldest sister "Kay" would play tunes like Martha Reeves & the Vandellas, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and the Jacksons on our parents old Gramophone. We couldn't wait till our parents went out so we could blast these tunes out in our East End home. Then a few years later my older brother "Jas" got into the Soul music of the late 70's and he began to influence me with his 12" vinyl tunes ... Listed among these were Cerrone, Brass Construction, War, George Benson, Chic and Cameo. He was a bit of a dancer too so I soon learned how to boogie with the best. At the age of 15 the George Benson album "In Flight" finally got me hooked on the Jazz-Funk tunes I love to play with a passion to this day. As fate would have it, I started work on a market stall at weekends opposite a record stall that specialised in Japanese Jazz-Funk (the in thing in those days). I started to save my pennies and spent them all on records .... this is where the "collection" began. I began doing a radio show back in 2001 mainly to play the album tracks that passed us by in our youth and that other jocks just wouldn't play. I'm a firm believer that our music tastes change as we grow older and thats why the tunes we missed in our youth begin to be more appealing to us ..."The Sneakers54 Collection" is all about bringing this great music to the airwaves.

Hi Im Colin Leonce, An old Soul boy from North West London who when I was a kid, sometime around the early to mid-70s, I used to sneak out of bed to listen to my parents and relatives partying downstairs. And one time I heard them playing Marvin Gaye’s album ‘What’s Going On’ - an album that changed what I thought about music, where it could take me and how it could make me feel. Since that day, Soul, Jazz and Funk have become more and more a central part of my life. Im delighted to join JFSR and look forward to sharing the music of my life with you. These days some of my favorites include; • David Sanborn - The theme from “Love is not enough” • James Fortune & FIYA - Hold On • Al Hudson And the Soul Partners - Spread Love And I guarantee to play some of the best of all this if you join me on The LeonC Guarantee Show! You're guaranteed the best in Soul, Jazz and Funk over the next two hours! All killers no fillers! LeonC
