The Messenger – Sounds From The Studio

Hi I’m Winston Graham aka ‘The Messenger’

I fell in love with music from the moment i used to climb out of my bedroom window at the age of 14 and sneaked off to Nottingham’s finest nightclub The Palais. As soon as I walked through the doors I was hooked on the amazing sounds of the Temptations and James Brown amongst many other prolific soul artists. This started my journey into the world of music.

I then went on to DJ at local venues and discovered the sweet sounds of Northern soul, which i still love to his day., although I can’t do the moves anymore!!! I played at venues in Germany bringing them the sounds of American and British soul.

Back in England I was part of a sound system playing Reggae and Riddem tracks, a sound which is very close to my heart.

In the 80’s I was part of the pirate radio scene and specialised in Rare grooves and soulful slowies, my favourite genre of music.

In the 90’s I kinda fell out of love with the music scene and had some time out.  Until I had my passion reignited  a few years ago. I joined a local radio station and got to play all the sounds I love, Soul, Funk, Reggae, SKA and of course Rare grooves.

So I would love for you to join me in my musical journey, i’ll take you from the 40’s to the naughties… Down the time tunnel
