Started publically DJing back in the mid-80s in West London. I grew up on a diet of clubbing at places such as Lacy Lady and Ilford Town Hall in Essex, to name a few, and witnessed first-hand the birth of Brit Funk as we know it back in the late 70s.
My early musical knowledge also stemmed from being a regular punter at the Americas Club in Southall, The Clay Pigeon in Ruislip & Jackson’s in Staines, not to mention many West End clubs. I was an avid pirate radio listener during the 80s.
The 90s was a time when I worked in record shops, namely Paul for Music in Whitechapel, then later on, various Our Price Music stores, ending up at the vinyl store in Ilford. I DJ'd concurently at various bars/pubs in Essex and East London, later to be playing at WKD & HQ in Camden.
I held a regular Dj spot at Po Na Na, The Q Club and other pubs/clubs in the Cambridge area whilst at University. My highlight during this period was having helped organise student nights at The Junction.
I also DJ'd at various Cambridge University campuses, mainly Jesus, Queen’s, Newnham & Trinity Colleges. My finale was to play at the Jesus College Summer Ball, alongside acts such as De La Soul and The Scratch Perverts on the line up. I also won a slot to play at the "Cream" University tour of 1996, spinning deep house.
I first made the transision from club dj to radio presenting back in 2000, taking a break for a while, rejoined the presenting game in 2019.
A mixed bag of old skool vibes will be the overall essence of each show, expect an interesting mix from all eras.
In addition, I'll be presenting regular specialised features adding a theme to my shows, features will include artist/producer, label & genre showcases but to name a few.
